Art & Culture
Deadline Extended: Call for Creative Projects for our Sustainability Season and Summer Programme!
Applications now open for creative projects.
Deadline for applications: Monday 6 February 2023 at 6pm
We are looking for compelling creative projects, across any artform, that respond to the climate emergency to be part of our summer programme. Projects must capture audience imaginations and resonate with local Royal Docks and wider Newham communities.
And in addition to this opportunity if you are already planning an event or activity in 2023 connected to sustainability or climate change in the Royal Docks area then we’d love to hear from you. You can tell us your plans via this short form
– and we can see how the activity might connect with our season and programme, and how it might be included within the promotional campaign.
Across Spring/Summer 2023, the Royal Docks Team will present a Sustainability Season during May, and a Summer Programme (June/July) that will feature a series of creative and cultural projects that respond to the climate emergency. The Sustainability Season in May is taking place in Thames Barrier Park, whilst the Summer Programme is happening across the Royal Docks.
There are two funding opportunities available for creative climate commissions:
Youth Project Opportunity
Are you an arts organisation that is youth-led? Or do you co-create with young people? Then this opportunity is for you!
We are commissioning youth-focused or youth-led creative climate action projects to take place during the Sustainability Season in May, in Thames Barrier Park.
There are different funds available to support these projects, ranging from £1000 to up to £10,000. We have five grants of up to £1000 specifically for 18 to 30-year-olds and are really interested to hear from young people who might be applying for the first time.

Summer Programme Opportunity
This opportunity is to be part of the Summer Programme. We are looking for family-friendly activity, events or projects across the Royal Docks around the theme of sustainability and climate change.
There are different funds available to support your project, ranging from £1000 to up to £15,000.
