EFG London Jazz Festival presents Royal Docks Weekender 2019

The EFG London Jazz Festival is back this November, brightening this chilly month with ambitious and exciting shows that showcase the very best in jazz.

This year, we’re thrilled to be hosting a special festival-within-a-festival in the Royal Docks. On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, the EFG London Jazz Festival are taking over spaces and venues around the Royal Docks for a weekend filled with live performances, installations, workshops, and more: the Royal Docks Weekender.

All of the weekend’s events are free, except Steam Down at Compressor House.

Tomorrow's Warriors Takeover

Be the first to see the future stars of British jazz, performance collective Tomorrow’s Warriors.

PYJÆN
4pm at the Silver Building
PYJÆN is a band with its roots in improvised music, influenced by rock, electro, afrobeat.

Renato Paris
5pm at The Good Hotel
Renato Paris merges together soul, pop, rhythm and blues, jazz and funk music.

Steam Down + DJ Born Cheating
7pm at Compressor House
Steam Down jump off from the sonic springboard of Afrofuturism, grime and future soul, fused together with the fearless spontaneity of jazz. Book tickets.

Jazz for Toddlers
11am and 12pm at The Crystal
Free, interactive musical sessions for toddlers and their parents, led by Juliet Kelly and Tony Kofi.

Collage Club Workshop
1pm at The Good Hotel
An all-ages session inspired by the king of collage, Matisse.

Baby Boogie
1pm at The Crystal
Family-friendly classics to dance along to with your little ones.

Luna Cohen and Thomas Seminar Ford
1pm at The Good Hotel
A Brazilian double-bill, presenting classic songs from the Samba and Bossa nova repertoire, as well as original music.

Urban Flames

Newham’s finest voices return after their stunning performances at Summer Stage.
