Royal Docks 5k Swim
Following the hugely successful launch event last year, the RD5 will be back again this Summer at Love Open Water London Royal Docks.
Swim 5 laps of the 1km course in one of the 3 waves – Relaxed, Medium and Fast. All waves are mass start.
If you are taking part in this year’s iconic Dock2Dock swim event, then the RD5 is the perfect way to train as you’ll be swimming in the same body of water. But the RD5 is not just for racers, if you prefer to swim at a more leisurely pace, then it’s a wonderful way to take part in a local event that is fun and friendly.
The swim cut-off time is a very generous 4.5 hours, however, you must have started your last lap before 3.45pm to ensure you are back before the cut off time at 4.30pm.
Except backstroke, all other swim styles are acceptable – front crawl, breast stroke, side stroke, or even the doggy-paddle!
Wetsuits are optional, so you are welcome to swim in skins if that is your preference.
You MUST be a NOWCA member to take part in the RD5.
