The Royal Docks Team, in partnership with Newham Council, is breathing new life into Compressor House, creating a landmark destination and multi-functional space for local communities and beyond. The drop-in meeting will include a workshop where participants can share ideas for a welcoming and inclusive visitor kiosk at Compressor House and creating a community gardening or an informal play space to also encourage use of the outdoor space.
Building tours will run throughout the afternoon and the light refreshments will be served. Supervised children are welcome to join the workshop and share their ideas too.
Compressor House may have limited accessibility for this meeting due to the ongoing lift installation. However, the workshop space will be accessible. Following completion of the renovations, Compressor House will be fully accessible for everyone.
Following feedback at the community meeting in October 2024, the new series of community partner meetings will focus on specific projects, themes and neighbourhoods. Upcoming sessions will include discussions on cultural participation and the Royal Docks Food and Beverage programme. To be the first to know about community meetings, news and opportunities sign up for Royal Docks emails.
Located in Royal Albert Dock, Compressor House is set to officially open Autumn 2025. We’ll be activating the space throughout the summer with a variety of cultural events. If you have ideas for events or are searching for a venue for a community activity, email royaldocks@london.gov.uk
We would love to hear your ideas for a summer programme and beyond!
