Public Lantern Making workshops
On Saturday 24th February 12 - 2pm, UEL Sportsdock will be host to a Free Lantern Making workshop in advance of the After Dark Event at Sportsdock, University Way, London, E16 2RD. Children will create glowing lanterns to accompany an Ancient Greek Olympic Chariot puppet with puppet horses galloping along the Docklands waterfront.
This year’s UEL After Dark Festival , happening on Thursday 29th February 5-8pm at the Docklands Campus, celebrates the Olympic and Paralympic year, as well as the Year of Science! The evening will feature a parade with giant puppets created by UEL Theatre students under the guidance of War Horse and Life of Pi puppet-maker Charlie Tymms, African dance and drumming performances and magical installations. A variety of fresh street food and drinks will also be available.
