Royal Docks Team launch ‘Create Your Docks’ Community Fund

The Royal Docks Team has announced the launch of their Create Your Docks community fund, which aims to support community groups to take an active role in the area's regeneration. It will support community groups and not for profit organisations with a turnover of less than £50,000 and who are based in the Royal Docks or Newham.

The fund aims to support people from all different backgrounds and walks of life, particularly under-represented groups to take part in activities shaping the future of their neighbourhoods. From community greening to health and wellbeing activity to celebrating local culture and bringing local spaces to life, funded initiatives will connect people to each other and to their local area. The ambition is to channel communities’ abundant creativity towards what matters to them in the context of the large-scale changes taking place.

'Create Your Docks' offers small and medium-sized grants to support community-led activities across the Royal Docks, with the following objectives:

  1. Small grants: – Between £1,000 to £5,000 supporting diverse and inclusive community engagement in the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone's delivery programme
  2. Medium grants: – Between £5,001 to £10,000 enabling community co-design initiatives, aligned with specific projects within the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone delivery programme
I’m delighted to launch Create Your Docks community fund, as I believe that the people of Newham have the best ideas for making sure the Royal Docks is a place of opportunity, good well-paying jobs and innovation
