London Open House and Totally Thames Festival comes to the Royal Docks

The Royal Docks Team is delighted to see London Open House and Totally Thames festivals taking centre stage in 2022. Both are proof of the growing reputation of the Royal Docks as a cultural hub, attracting some of the most creative and innovative events taking place in London.

London Open House is a two-week celebration of London’s architecture, housing and neighbourhoods. It starts on the 8th of September and continues on for another 14 days.

You can find about all the events available by visiting the dedicated website for Open City. Don’t miss out on visiting our new City Hall. You might also be interested in an alternative docklands perspective. There’s also much more to learn about the history of the Royal Docks.

We’ve also got a walk-through history with some unique illustrations along the edge of the Royal Albert Docks.

Totally Thames was launched eight years ago and has a broad range of exciting and immersive activities. The festival covers the arts, education and heritage. It runs for the whole of September and there are over 100 events to get your teeth into. History buffs will be delighted to find out more about the Millennium Mills and how Edwardian London was fed. You also may wonder how Canada Water got its name? There is a full story to be told! Sport lovers, especially those that support a football team that plays in claret and blue, will definitely find merit in two talks by Dr Brian Belton

This year, Totally Thames is also investing in the battle to combat climate change, putting on a unique evening of song and contemplation.

We’re very excited to soon be playing host to these events. Despite sadly moving out of the summer, the Royal Docks will continue to provide a hub for creativity, culture and heritage for Londoners of all ages to enjoy.
