Visit an iconic Ukrainian Cossack boat
Ok, so you can’t get aboard this boat but it’s worth a visit to see its beauty next time you’re in Royal Victoria Dock. The Ukrainian Cossack boat, named the Presvyata Pokrova was originally constructed over 20 years ago in Lviv, Ukraine, by a dedicated group of local Ukrainian enthusiasts. They meticulously recreated the design of an authentic 16th-century Cossack warship, called a chaika, which had been discovered at the bottom of the Dnipro River. Since then, the boat has sailed nearly 30,000 nautical miles across Europe.
The Presvyata Pokrova is currently moored in Royal Victoria Dock (in between Good Hotel and the IFS Cable Car) in celebration of Ukraine’s rich maritime history and cultural heritage.
