The Medicinal Garden

Many medicines have plant origins, such as some chemotherapy drugs and heart medications.

The pharmacy team at Great Ormond Street Hospital and researchers from University College London have teamed up with horticultural expert Ben Newell (Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medallist 2022) for a free, family-friendly exhibit of medicinal plants and find out more about their journey in becoming pharmaceuticals.

The exhibit will also highlight the waste generated if these pharmaceuticals are not handled appropriately, including packaging waste and recycling issues.
