A day of free family fun, performance, interactive exhibits and workshops
This fun family day celebrates the grand opening of the Royal Docks Corridor, from Canning Town to London City Airport - including Silvertown Way and North Woolwich Road.
Following two years of improvements, the road is now safer, greener, and better for walking and cycling. It features more green space, less pollution, and one of the UK’s largest rain gardens.
Taking place on 20 September as part of wider World Car Free Day celebrations, the event promotes active, sustainable travel.
Around Pontoon Dock DLR and Thames Barrier Park, enjoy live performances, interactive workshops, and exhibits for all ages.
Bring a picnic or grab lunch from With Milk café in Thames Barrier Park, then come along to join the fun!

A CELEBRATION OF OPENING OF THE ROYAL DOCKS CORRIDOR WITH KENSON HIGHWAYS
Kenson Highways and Newham Council will be on site at Pontoon Dock (road-level) with lots of activities for all the family – there will be information about the project, fun things to do and see and even a digger to sit on!

Taking over the streets, look out for Strictly Cycling’s epic human/bike sculptures, slo-motion battles & marvel at the lengths they go to, to park their bikes. A playful take on every day cycling experiences, being seen on a bike, & the great British weather.

Three performers blur the boundaries between hip hop and circus through a series of captivating and playful interactions challenging identity, status and societal roles.

BIKEWORKS – Dr Bike
Experienced mechanics will conduct a full check of your cycle and carry out minor repairs on site. For any repairs that require a bit more work, the mechanics will give detailed advice on exactly what needs fixing and roughly how much it should cost at a local bike shop.
BIKEWORKS - all abilities cycling
All-Ability Clubs are designed for people with physical, sensory or learning disabilities, people with health conditions and carers, to enjoy cycling by accessing an exciting range of adapted cycles. Including tricycles, side-by-side cycles, wheelchair-platform cycles and recumbents.
SILLY OLYMPICS WITH TOOTLES AND NIBS
Throughout history man has created games and sports. Many of these go on to gain recognition internationally, unfortunately many of them fall by the wayside. The Silly Olympics is a celebration of forgotten and downright daft games. Such wondrous sports as Welly Welly Boot Spoon, Trunkington Stanley, Sleeping Bag Racing and Jigsaw Puzzle Relay is just a taster of the silliness you can expect.
