Introducing ‘With Milk’ the new cafe in the heart of Thames Barrier Park

Sister duo, Hana and Lela Mamma are the owners of With Milk, the exciting new café and community hub coming soon to Thames Barrier Park. We caught up with Hana to hear more about this latest addition to the Royal Wharf neighbourhood.

We’re so excited to launch With Milk in the Royal Docks! The cafe has been newly refurbished including the addition of a stone-bake pizza oven. It's an amazing space. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a 180-degree view of Thames Barrier Park. The decking with outdoor seating is perfect for admiring the award-winning landscape and gazing at the Thames Barrier in the distance.

We also have another branch of With Milk in Tottenham, where we grew up. It’s been open for nearly 5 years. Tottenham has been through lots of changes including a regeneration project. We have already seen positive outcomes of regeneration in Tottenham, and it's exciting to now be part of the Royal Docks regeneration too.

We pride ourselves on high standards, great customer service and quality products. Our customers can enjoy specialty coffee and great food inspired by our North African heritage and love of food. All food is made from scratch, even the mayonnaise, pickles, and dressings. This not only helps control quantity, but also helps us reduce our waste. Currently, we use any leftover milk for making ricotta. It’s delicious!

Initially, we will have amazing coffee and a range of delicious pastries on offer. Once we’re fully in the swing of things, we’ll introduce the full menu making the most of the great pizza oven.

Our Tottenham cafe includes a small deli with great cheeses, and moreish foodie treats. If it interests our new customers, we’ll consider introducing a deli in our Royal Docks branch too. For the perfect picnic in the park, we also plan on having blankets and wicker hampers packed with tasty treats available.

Dog walkers, feel free to swing by too. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. On occasions, our family dogs, Pesto and Tekka, may make a guest appearance.

The business is a family affair, as well as working with my sister Lela, our mum, Eileen, is very much involved. It’s great working together. We have also recruited a friendly and dedicated team to work with us in the cafe. As an accredited London Living Wage Employer, we’re pleased that every member of staff working for With Milk earns the London Living Wage.

With Milk isn’t just another coffee shop. It's a welcoming community hub that provides a shared space for residents. Life can be busy so it's a great place to take a well-deserved break from it all.

We’re in a great multi-purpose building, perfect for events, collaborations and more. We have exciting plans and want to work in partnership with the local community to make them happen. We’ll be reaching out to local groups and organisations to establish the needs of residents. Ideas so far include supper clubs, hot desking mornings, kids breakfast clubs, exhibitions and offering space for community groups to meet. We would also love to set up or invite a gardening group to grow crops and herbs in the planters on the decking.

We look forward to welcoming our new customers and becoming part of the Royal Docks community. Once we’re open, please pop in, say hello and let us know what you would like to see in our calendar of events.
