Cody Dock Frost Fair

As the winter draws in, Cody Dock invites you to celebrate the festive season at their Frost Fair.

Inspired by the tradition of Frost Fairs once held on the Thames, the fair will include local artists and makers selling their crafts. You can also expect festive workshops, seasonal games, live music, exhibitions, mulled wine & more, to really get you in the mood for the festive season!

Frost Fair’s origins date all the way back to 695 A.D, when the River froze over for 6 whole weeks and vendors came to sell their wares to the public. It wasn’t until the 17th Century however, that the Frost Fair rose in popularity, with activities such as horse and coach racing, nine-pin bowling and sledding enjoyed by attendees amongst the many market stalls and vendors.

Although there won't be horse and coach racing at Cody Dock, a great day is planned - free for everyone to enjoy and participate in. It is also an opportunity to promote shopping independent and local at the Maker’s Market! Come along, take part in activities and buy presents for the upcoming festive season, supporting local makers in the community.
