Art in the Docks: Arrivals and Departures Exhibition by John Lord

Drawing on a deep affinity with reclaimed household paint and salvaged items, Lord offers a fresh perspective to a creative process. His alternative painting surfaces are testament to his commitment to sustainability and the artistry of transformation.

Among his sources is the Forest Recycling Project, an East London charity committed to ‘green’ recycling. Their values and objectives: distributing reclaimed household paint, wood, and fabric, and amplifying environmental consciousness are all woven into John’s creative process.

John Lord path led him from the welding and fabrication trade as an apprentice blacksmith to his current multi-disciplinary artistic prowess. It infuses his practice with a rare blend of practicality and thoughtful ingenuity. Each creation embodies a logical and resourceful approach, a reflection of his deeply rooted philosophy.
