Royal Docks After Dark
The clocks may have gone back, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of the evenings. Whether you're looking to stay active, meet friends or simply enjoy the waterfront, here are some of our favourite ways to spend an autumn evening in the Royal Docks.
Book an Igloo at Heroica Lounge
For something a little different, head to Heroica Lounge. Its cosy dockside igloo overlooks Royal Victoria Dock and provides a unique waterside setting for catching up with friends and family.
Visitors can enjoy drinks and wood-fired sourdough pizzas either from the comfort of the igloo or aboard the venue's converted double-decker bus restaurant. The venue is dog friendly, too.
East End Road Runners bring local runners together for regular group runs and training sessions.
Enjoy the Night Sky from the London Cable Car
You may have ridden the London Cable Car during the day, but after dark it's a completely different experience.
Glide high above the Thames and watch the city lights come to life beneath the night sky, with views across the Royal Docks, Canary Wharf, The O2 and beyond. It's one of the most memorable ways to see London after sunset.
Discover Live Music After Dark
Looking for live music in the Royal Docks? From waterfront venues hosting live bands to late-night DJ sets and club nights, there's something for every taste. Discover where to enjoy live music and DJs across the Royal Docks.
Free Kundalini Yoga at Beckton Globe Library
Looking for a calming way to spend your Monday evening? Join a free weekly Kundalini Yoga session at Beckton Globe Library every Monday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Suitable for all experience levels, the sessions combine movement, breathing techniques and meditation to support strength, flexibility and overall wellbeing. No booking is required, so simply turn up and take part.
Go for a stroll from Royal Albert Wharf
Pick up an award-winning hot chocolate from Well Bean Co. and enjoy an evening walk around Royal Albert Wharf. As the lights come on around the dock, it's a great place to take in the waterfront views and enjoy a slower pace after a busy day.
Join a Run with East End Road Runners
As the darker nights draw in, running with others can be a great way to stay motivated and keep active. East End Road Runners bring local people together through weekly outdoor speed sessions at Terence McMillan Stadium at Newham Leisure Centre, as well as regular group runs on Thursdays and Sundays.
Many of the runs take in the Royal Docks, where long stretches of uninterrupted waterfront paths offer an enjoyable and sociable running route, along with stunning views across the water.
Anyone interested in joining can try their first track session at Terence McMillan Stadium for free. Contact East End Road Runners to find out more.
Spend an Evening at The Windjammer
A local favourite, The Windjammer is the perfect spot to settle in on a chilly evening, with heated outdoor seating and blankets available throughout the colder months.
Stop by for Wings Wednesday, take part in quiz night, or enjoy live music every Saturday evening from 8pm.
