East End Road Runners
Make New Connections
- Meet new people by joining the East End Road Runners for coached sessions and group runs including scenic routes along the docks.
- A friendship group for adults with learning disabilities meets Tuesdays, 2-4pm at Canning Town Library to enjoy games, good conversation and day trips. Email carys@hopefulfutures.net for more details.
- Get creative at Crafted Corner's free Crochet Club or Stitch Club and visiting to your local community centre also a great way to make new connections.
- Planning to reconnect with friends and family? Discover places in the Royal Docks to explore, go for a roast, grab a coffee together plus places you can bring your dog too.

There are plenty of ways to build new skills locally:
- Try a free art class with Art in the Docks.
- 9–18 year olds can build water confidence with the Royal Docks Sea Cadets.
- UEL offers a range of courses designed to allow you to combine work with studying, enabling you to still earn while you earn.
- Have a go at pottery wheel throwing at BonBon Pottery in Royal Wharf.
- Our Newham Learning & Skills also offers flexible day, evening, and weekend courses at local centres across Newham, with most courses free or discounted. Subjects include English and maths, ESOL, digital and IT skills, creative courses, and employment support.
Volunteer locally
Volunteering is another great way to meet people and support your community. Opportunities in Royal Docks include help at West Silvertown Foundation Community Pantry, run activities at Beckton Globe Library or maybe volunteer at Beckton Dock Parkrun.
