At the Docks for Families

Looking for ways to keep the children entertained this summer? The At the Docks season is packed with family-friendly activities, from outdoor adventures and hands-on workshops to immersive experiences and waterside fun.

Free SwimSafe Sessions for Young People

Running until Sunday 16 August, SwimSafe returns to the Royal Docks as part of Royal Docks Summer Splash. These free sessions, created by Swim England and the RNLI, and funded by the Mayor of London, help children aged 7 - 14 build confidence in and around open water while learning vital safety skills, including floating, recognising hazards and signalling for help.  

Children must be able to swim 25 metres unaided, and a carer or parent must remain on site throughout the session.

Get Creative at Royal Docks Summer Splash

Royal Docks Summer Splash isn't just about swimming. Families can enjoy a programme of free creative workshops throughout August including, Stitch the Docks (8 August), an African Drumming Workshop (11 August) and the Summer Wish Wall (12 August)

Take a family walk along the dock and immerse yourself in the area’s unique heritage and landscape with our self-guided tours and trails. The Pews and Perches bench on the Floating Garden is also lovely little spot to relax and enjoy the calming views of Royal Victoria Dock.
