At the Docks
SwimSafe Water Safety Sessions
Created by Swim England and the RNLI and funded by the Mayor of London, SwimSafe returns to the Royal Docks for its third year as part of Royal Docks Summer Splash.
These free sessions help children aged 7–14 build confidence in and around open water, learning vital skills such as floating, recognising hazards and signalling for help.
When:
24 July – 16 August 2026
- Weekdays | 5pm–6pm
- Weekends | 10am–11am
Who: Children aged 7–14 who can swim 25 metres unaided in deep water.
What’s included:
- Free sessions
- Qualified instructors
- Small groups
- All equipment provided
A parent, guardian or teacher must remain on site throughout the session.
Important safety information:
The Royal Docks are a working water environment and are not open for general, public swimming. The dock waters are deep and can present significant hazards. Please only enter the water as part of an authorised activity operated by a licensed provider and follow all safety instructions.
