The Sound Hive
Culture Within Newham is launching a new public artwork for children, and all are welcome to attend the launch!
The Sound Hive is an interactive sound and light installation inspired by the environment, which captures Newham’s soundscape from the point-of-view of our youngest residents. Come along to meet the artists from Ricebox Studio, enjoy delicious food from TiffinWalli and sign up to a workshop exploring themes of environment and sustainability with artist Matt Ponting.
This event is open to everyone, and is particularly well suited for families to enjoy together. All children and young people should be accompanied by an adult.

The Sound Hive was developed in collaboration with the Culture Within Newham Children’s Board. Ricebox Studio worked closely with a Children's Board consisting of 18 students from Gallions, Rosetta and New City primary schools, who played a key role in shaping the project. The Sound Hive was commissioned by Culture Within Newham, and funded by Arts Council England. Culture Within Newham is supported in their work by the Royal Docks team.
