Play Builds Communities Day
To celebrate National Play Day, five themed participation zones will be landing in Thames Barrier Park. Each will use play to engage children creatively in a wide spectrum of workshops, activities and opportunities.
Heritage Zone celebrates and raises the awareness of the Royal Docks heritage.
Arts Zone includes Banksy wall art, badge-making, t-shirt design and print, as well as workshops in rap, dance, drama, and poetry with an end-of-event performance.
In Sports Zone, enjoy cycling, beat the goalie, water sports, fitness classes, initiative challenges, and get a health MOT check.
Environment Zone is the place to take part in making sculptures from recycled materials, learn about docklands wildlife, Newham City Farm, or take part in our foraging walks.
Community Zone informs and showcases opportunities, clubs, and activities for children.
