Packages of Hope
While the festive season can be filled with cheer and merriment, it can equally feel testing, stressful and have a lack of meaning at times.
So please join us at this family-friendly event to explore ways to look after your wellbeing through the festive season AND do something to give a little back to people less fortunate.
Being kind to others not only gives the recipient a boost of “happy chemicals”, but it also boosts our own levels of happiness, and those of anyone simply watching a kind exchange. Kindness is literally our superpower as humans!
For the first section of the afternoon we will be topping up on our self-care with a little self-kindness with some meditation and a gratitude session. As Dr. Kristin Neff, the world’s top researcher in self-compassion, says, “we can't give from an empty cup"!
In the second half, we will be making packages of hope for the homeless and inviting everyone to write a handwritten letter of hope to place inside the packages. The evening will end with a sharing circle.
We will provide some items and if you feel moved to bring along some contributions, here are some suggested items for the Packages of Hope;
- Gloves
- Socks
- Underwear
- Any spare coats or jumpers
- Hat
- Food
- Flask
- Blanket
- Sleeping bag
- Tent
- Sanitary products
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Chocolate
- Book
- Decorations for your gift bag
- Whatever you feel moved to bring along :-)
Please know that if you are unable bring anything along, it is no problem at all! Your presence and support alone is a gift.
Please do feel free to bring children with you, so that they can explore the gift of giving this Christmas.
We feel deep gratitude for your support, and look forward to seeing you soon.
