Join us for a series of free community-led guided wall walks in the Royal Docks, E16 and discover some of the 170 stories contributed by local people that feature on the wall.

Historical Silvertown led by Marieta Evans.

Join Marieta, journalist and history buff on this historical tour of Silvertown, encompassing local landmarks such as the Connaught Tavern, Cundy Pub and Brick Lane Music Hall.

Missing Medals: Unearthing Invisible Seafaring Histories of Empire led by Asif Shakoor

A walk along Victoria Dock Road telling the invisible seafaring histories of the Empire - led by a direct descendant of a South Asian seafarer ‘Lascar’ who arrived on the SS Khiva in December 1917.

THURSDAY 14 OCTOBER

3:30 - 5pm
Come & wander with wonder after school walk led by Emma Crace.

Discover the tales told by young people and elders from the communities along Albert Road in North Woolwich. There will be kindness rocks to leave for strangers and we will be blowing big bubbles! Families with young children warmly invited. Followed by drinks at Manzoor’s cafe.

SATURDAY 16 OCTOBER

11am - 12.30pm
Sketch and Stroll led by Matt Ponting

Learn about the extraordinary history of the Royal Docks, its people and landscape in this practical walking and drawing tour led by local artist Matt Ponting, accompanied by Angela Fields from PEACH. Sketching supplies provided, or bring your own.

SATURDAY 16 OCTOBER
2 - 4pm
The Royal Docks: A Sense of Place led by Tim Peake
Explore the Royal Docks’ long history from a tranquil flood meadow into the heart of international maritime trade and transformation since its closure in the 1980’s. The walk will be interspersed with creative engagement activities on the concept of place, in collaboration with writer Okala Elesia.
