Newham Celebrates LGBT+ History Month 2026
Newham is celebrating LGBT+ History Month 2026 from 1–28 February with a vibrant programme inspired by the theme ‘Science and Innovation’, featuring talks, workshops, exhibitions, performances and screenings across libraries and community venues throughout the borough.
Highlights in the Royal Docks include:
- On Thursday 12 February at Canning Town Library, Creative Workshop: LGBT+ Stories of Care explores queer histories of health, disability and care through archives, oral histories and creative making.
- On Friday 20 February, 7–9pm at the Tate Institute, Silvertown by Jonny Woo presents a work-in-progress sharing from a new play set in a 1960s gay pub in the Royal Docks, followed by a Q&A.
