Kindful Yoga
One of our favourite sayings from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh is “The Way Out is In”.
We’re all living through testing times at the moment, which makes it even more important to build our inner resources and take care of ourselves (as best we can). We may not be able to control external factors or our circumstances. But there are ways that we can create a safe and peaceful place inside of ourselves that we can always come home to.
And this helps us to build our emotional resilience, so that we can weather the uncertainties of life more effectively. So we invite you to join us for a special relaxing and restorative 90 minute session with Grace Parkyn of Kindful Yoga Therapy.
Grace is a yoga therapist and mental health professional, who shares Yoga, Mindfulness and Self-care for all bodies, ages and abilities at www.kindfulyogatherapy.com. As Grace puts it... “The modern world can be a challenging place to find peace, and stress can seep into many layers of our lives affecting our emotional and physical well being. Research tells us that Yoga and Mindfulness can make stress feel more manageable and can help even on the most stressful of days".
All beings and all bodies are different and we are as unique as our fingerprints. Yoga and mindfulness are magic in that they offer a variety of practices to suit different needs. I work with you as an individual and meet you where you are, whether you have practised yoga before or are a complete beginner, and I welcome all parts of you, even the bits you want to get rid of. We all have those bits.”
So come and join us for some ‘You Time’. Remember, self care is not selfish! Our mind and body work so hard for us on a daily basis. We can’t “pour from an empty cup” and everybody else around us benefits, too, when we have more inner resources.
So give something back to your mind and body. Because, as Jon Kabat-Zinn says, “You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf”.
You are invited to bring along a yoga mat and a blanket to get extra cosy. If you don’t have one, please just let us at Smile@museumofhappiness.org and we will bring some for you.
