Film Screening of Crossing

Crossing tells the story of Lia, a retired teacher, who has promised to find her long-lost niece, Tekla. Her search takes her to Istanbul where she meets Evrim, a lawyer fighting for trans rights, and Tekla starts to feel closer than ever.

This screening is part of Newham’s LGBT+ History Month programme and Picture East Film Festival.

A programme of free events are taking place across Newham throughout February and the theme for this year's LGBT+ History Month is 'Activism and Social Change'.

Highlights include ‘Queer Walks and Plaques’ workshops by Artizine and jdwoof, Newham Music’s Queer Choir Fest with Errata, F*Choir, and the London Trans Choir, and a fantastic youth showcase led by Come as You are (CAYA) LGBTQIA+ Youth Project. Enjoy author events, talks, films, and workshops!
