Boat Poets: I Remember Your Face by Tatenda Naomi Matsvai
Boat Poet Tatenda Naomi Matsvai created I Remember Your Face in response to conversations with passengers of the Woolwich Ferry.
“I found in each conversation The woolwich ferry was a conduit for lost memory” Tatenda says. “a holder of history even in it’s change the ability to look out of the ship and experience the memories of the area are the magic of the ferry.”
Boat Poets is a talent development project for poets and spoken word artists aged 18 - 25 to spend time on their local waterway. Each resident artist will be supported to create new work inspired by their waterway, whilst being given paid time to explore and work in new ways.
Boat Poets is supported by Totally Thames, the Royal Docks Team, the Port of London Authority and TfL.
