At the Docks
August Maker Club Takeover: Free Tech & Creative Workshops
Try something new this August at UEL Docklands. The August Maker Club Takeover is a programme of practical workshops bringing together technology, creativity and hands-on making at the Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability.
Across the programme, participants can explore electronics and soldering, game development using Linux and free open-source software, algorithms and artificial intelligence, pattern making and sewing, biomedical technology and community-led approaches to AI. Sessions are designed for a range of interests and experience levels, from curious beginners to students, educators, community organisers, creatives and experienced makers.
The programme is open to local residents, families, young people, students, staff and visitors from across the Royal Docks and East London. Most activities are free, although one specialist pattern-making workshop costs £10. Places are limited and advance booking is recommended. Please check each individual event listing for its date, time, age guidance, accessibility information and any materials or preparation required.
The live programme includes workshops across electronics, computing, game development, creative making and technology.
