The Royal Docks: An Introduction
The Royal Docks’ history is etched on the post-industrial landscape and vast waterscape, whilst the stories of the people who gave it life – the dockers and factory workers, the families and publicans, the sailors and entertainers – are the stuff of legend.
While the results are all around us, the stories themselves are not always visible, so the Royal Docks Team have worked with Marieta Evans, the Royal Docks History Club and local graphic designers Thoughtful Standard to create a series of digital heritage boards to introduce them to the public.
Get to know the area by exploring ten key locations, selected by local people, and listen to the accompanying podcast series to further delve into the fascinating tales of the Docks.
