Galyons

​Famous for its Sunday roasts, Galyons is a gastropub situated within the beautiful Grade II listed Gallions Hotel, which dates to 1881. Open to everyone, Galyons boasts a stunning dockside location at Royal Albert Wharf, including a terrace with stunning views.

Options include a Moroccan pilaf vegan roast, 28-day aged rib of rare breed beef, slow-roasted crispy pork belly, lemon and herb roast chicken, and rosemary and garlic slow-roasted lamb. Using high-quality seasonal ingredients, the roasts are served with all the trimmings. Try to leave room for a delicious dessert. Another local spot for a great roast is The Fox Excel, a gastro pub in a Grade II listed converted tobacco warehouse. Located in Royal Victoria Dock, next to the Excel London, the pub offers a traditional roast in a friendly vibrant atmosphere. Choose from vegetable Wellington, roast beef, or half a roast chicken. After lunch, take a stroll to explore the public art in Royal Victoria Dock, part of The Line, London's first outdoor art gallery and walking trail. There are five incredible commissions in the area including Types of Happiness, two 10ft sculptural chairs, coloured with a Dutch wax print-like pattern designed by British Nigerian artist, Yinka Ilori. The art trail connects the Royal Docks, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and The O2, following the waterways and the line of the Greenwich Meridian. The Fox Connaught

Make your Sunday extra special with a roast at The Fox Connaught. Just a five-minute walk from Prince Regent DLR Station, this traditional pub offers a cosy and friendly atmosphere within a Grade II listed Victorian building. Enjoy the rustic decor inside or dine alfresco on the terrace.

Choose from chicken, beef, or a nut roast, all served with roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire pudding, seasoned greens, roasted carrots, and rich gravy.
