Plans unveiled for One Dock Road: Have your say
General Projects have launched a consultation website for the future of One Dock Road in Royal Victoria Dock. They are keen to understand the views of neighbours and the local community ahead of submitting a planning application to Newham Council.
One Dock Road is located to the south of City Hall, a prominent waterfront location, next to General Projects’ existing Expressway site. The site presents an opportunity for redevelopment and forms part of the broader ambition to regenerate the Royal Victoria Dock area.
General Projects’ proposals for One Dock Road include a new apart hotel and amenity spaces - including co-working lounges, community spaces, and a rooftop urban farm. The site will also provide a new dockside restaurant and café.
The proposals include:
- A new apart hotel offering generous rooms with ensuites and kitchenettes for guests. These rooms will look to maximise the views over the Dock and back towards the City.
- A range of additional spaces including co-working lounges, exciting amenities, gathering spaces and a rooftop urban farm area – each providing potential locations for community events.
- A welcoming reception to the north of the site to activate the area around the underpass and City Hall.
- A co-working lounge, dockside restaurant/ café to activate the ground floor dock frontage and helping to create a welcoming and inviting space to be enjoyed by the local community.
- Upgrades to the underpass, such as public art.
- A rooftop urban farm, creating new high-quality urban greening and improving biodiversity on the site
