Join the Royal Docks Creative Connectors network today
The Royal Docks has a bold ambition to be London’s cultural engine; a world-class creation centre rooted in the people and places of the Royal Docks. The Creative Connectors is a fun, informal and open access network, with opportunities to be more actively involved in our cultural programme. Join the network to start your journey with us and help put the Royal Docks on the map as THE place for arts and culture in London!
Why join?
Do you want to be part of a network that helps make things happen in the Royal Docks?
Do you want to be the first in the know and have access to exclusive events and opportunities in the Royal Docks?
Do you like meeting new people who share your passion for creativity, culture and arts and want to find out more about cultural projects happening in the area?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then we’d love you to join the network!
Who can join?
It is open to all, over the age of sixteen years, who live, work or study in the Royal Docks. Last year, we launched a pilot of the Creative Connectors, and this year the group is becoming open access for people who live, work or study in the Royal Docks. You don’t need to have any arts or events experience; all we ask for is enthusiasm and an open mind!
What’s involved?
There are different ways to be involved, and we do ask that you’re able to commit a small amount of time annually. This might be coming to some of our events or a Creative Connectors’ Get Together, as well as helping spread the word about what’s on in the area to your friends, family and colleagues.
Being a Creative Connector includes:
- Monthly newsletter rounding up all the opportunities and events coming up for the network.
- Exclusive invitations to special events, as well as access to free and discounted tickets, in our programme.
- Summer and Winter Get Together celebrations (two annually).
- Volunteering and paid opportunities in the Royal Docks Team’s annual cultural programme, as well as opportunities for free training and workshops.
- Opportunity to be on the Dock Local Panel.
- Opportunity to comment and vote on proposed Dock Local Panel projects, as well to be part of feedback focus groups following events, projects and festivals.
- Trips and visits to cultural events across London (up to 2 per year with a limited number of tickets) to support the research for Dock Local programming.
You can join at any time! To JOIN, please email Anila Ladwa (Anila.Ladwa@royaldocks.london) to find out more.
Look out for our monthly newsletter once you’re signed up to start your Creative Connectors journey with us!
FAQs
What is the Dock Local Panel?
The Dock Local Panel is made up of a group of Creative Connectors and has an annual budget to programme events as part of the Dock Local Programme. Creative Connectors can apply to be on the panel. Please click here to find out more about what being on the Dock Local Panel involves and to apply.
What network in the Royal Docks is most suitable for me to join and can I join if I am part of another Royal Docks Network?
You might find that as a creative professional, or working as part of a creative organisation, that the Creative Partners Network is more suited. Applications for the pilot phase are now closed but will open up again towards the end of the year. This doesn’t mean that as an individual you can’t join the Creative Connectors, but if you are part of both, certain opportunities may not be applicable.
