Royal Dock Originals
Calling young people: Royal Victoria needs you
Royal Victoria has always been a place of change, innovation and possibility, and as part of Royal Docks Originals festival 2027, we are inviting you and other young people to create a festival project exploring your vision for the area. What could its next chapter look like (including the water!) - and what part could young people play in shaping it?
Could Royal Victoria be the place for young people?
What does this changing area mean to you? What feels important? What is missing? And what would make Royal Victoria a place where young people feel they belong, have opportunities and can shape what happens next?
Together, you will start by exploring these questions, share ideas and develop a creative project that will be presented as part of Royal Docks Originals festival in 2027.
You will have opportunities to:
- meet and work with other young people
- take part in workshops, visits and creative activities
- develop and gain new skills and experience
- explore Royal Victoria area in new ways
- shape ideas, make decisions and help create something original together.
No previous creative experience is needed.
We are looking for young people aged 16 - 25, who would like to collaborate with others and are interested in the local area. The project will welcome your questions, curiosity and all experiences!
This opportunity has been initiated by Naciimo, a young local board member on the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone Board, who is passionate about creating opportunities and space for young people. Naciimo will work alongside the young cohort, the Royal Docks Team and Culture Within Newham to develop the project.
Interested? We’d love to hear from you!
