Circular Economy Hub - site visit for community groups
The Royal Docks is leading the way in efforts to reduce waste and emissions. Join us for a site visit to Tipping Point East - our new circular construction hub, and the first of it's kind in the UK.
Tipping Point East brings together material reuse, low-carbon construction, green skills training and cultural activity to deliver the UK’s first Circular Construction Hub to support a just transition in the built environment. They are piloting a new model for circular construction that demonstrates how reclaimed and bio-based materials can be used to retrofit existing buildings at scale.
Join the site visit to learn more about how the Hub is enabling councils, contractors, and communities to adopt more resource-efficient approaches to the built environment. The visit will include a tour of the site and Q&A.
This event is aimed for those from the local community and those working in the community and voluntary sector. If you work in local government, construction or the circular economy sector, you may prefer to join one of their other events.
This event is taking place as part of UEL's Sustainable Cities Festival (4-6 March 2026). You can find out more and see the full programme of events here.
Location: the site is at Charles Street, E16 2BY.
Travel: Pontoon Dock DLR is a 5-min walk away. The closest bus stop is Thames Barrier, serviced by buses 129, 241 and 330.
Tipping Point East is delivered by Yes Make, RESOLVE Collective and Material Cultures, in partnership with London Borough of Newham, with support from the The Royal Docks Team and the Greater London Authority. The project is partially funded by Innovate UK, with DSDHA acting as guarantor.
