  • The opportunity

    You’ll be raising the profile and growing awareness of the Royal Docks as a unique visitor destination. That means developing stand-out campaigns across the full marketing mix, including online and offline channels. You will also contribute to the development of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, including the establishment of the Royal Docks Marketing Partnership to deliver joint campaigns with major businesses, and education and transport providers. Rigorous planning and management will be key as well as experience of campaign optimisation and demonstrating the impact of your work.

    The person

    You’ll bring substantial experience of creating and delivering innovative integrated marketing and communications campaigns. A good understanding of destination marketing, cultural tourism, regeneration, and placemaking is essential, along with up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing and social media. You’ll also need first-class copywriting skills and the ability to utilise audience insights and data. An exceptional communicator and influencer, you’ll be ready to engage the community and stakeholder groups in your plans.

  • The opportunity

    Use your expertise in multi-channel digital marketing to raise the profile of the Royal Docks as a unique place to live, work, and visit. You’ll take the lead on developing digital platforms and channels, ensuring they integrate with wider marketing campaigns. Expect day-to-day involvement in the Royal Docks’ social media presence: researching, creating and publishing content, as well as engaging with users. You will manage creative agencies and the delivery of digital engagement products and tools, developing digital tactics as well as reporting on performance.

    The person

    You’ll bring experience of developing and implementing ambitious, high-performing multi-channel digital strategies. This will include extensive experience of applying user-centric approaches through data analytics, user research, and other sources of intelligence and insight. You’ll have a track record of growing audiences, both organically and using paid media, and delivering content strategies that drive engagement. Experience of running procurement processes and managing agencies and freelancers is key. A good understanding of regeneration and placemaking is also important.

    Working collaboratively with colleagues in key partner organisations including the Greater London Authority, London Borough of Newham, ExCeL, London City Airport, and Transport for London, you’ll develop a communications strategy that establishes the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone and Opportunity Area as a prime location for business development, enterprise, and innovation. Aimed at the widest possible audience, both locally and internationally, your strategies and activities will communicate our unique investment opportunity. You will co-ordinate events, source speakers, develop messaging, and maximise press exposure.

    The person

    You’ll bring substantial experience of communications and media relations in a complex, political environment. A strong track record in event management is also essential. You should be skilled in marketing, in particular the production of advertising and promotional materials. Good written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to generate engaging copy for a wide range of audiences, will be vital to your success. You should also be capable of building productive partnerships and managing diverse stakeholders.

The public face of community engagement, you’ll design and deliver a high-quality strategy that ensures local residents and businesses have a real voice in policy and programme development. From identifying local partnership opportunities, to creating sustainable initiatives, you’ll develop a community relations function that is a hub of best practice and innovation.

    The person

    You’ll need a successful track record of leading community engagement strategies and programmes in a political environment. This will be built on an understanding of London’s diverse communities and knowledge of best practice in community engagement. You must be capable of producing and presenting written reports and briefings on complex and sensitive issues. Focused on continuous learning and development, you’ll be ready to lead a small team and to exert influence at senior levels. Skills in relationship building, partnership working, and communication are at the heart of this role.

Working closely with the Royal Docks community relations manager and wider partners, you’ll help to design, deliver, and co-ordinate an ambitious programme of consultation and engagement activity. It starts with research and intelligence to find out what matters to our diverse local communities, including those that are harder to reach. You’ll then work in collaboration to deliver a joined-up programme of engagement activity.

    The person

    You’re committed to ensuring communities have a real voice in policy and programme development and delivery. To succeed, you’ll need a successful track record of developing, delivering, and evaluating community engagement activities in a political environment. This will be built on an understanding of London’s diverse communities and knowledge of best practice. Skills in relationship building, networking, and communication are at the heart of this role.
